The Studio
Chikon Club is both a game studio and a collective legally registered in Metro Manila, Philippines making independent games. Trina, Gwen and Gia started off making short games in 2020 as a creative release during the pandemic, producing short experiences that have no fail states but provided either a calm or funny experience to the players.
On May 2020, Putahe ng Ina Mo: Sinigang Edition was released on itch.io and the team saw the need for a cooking game that’s focused on improvisation when cooking. The game is now currently being reworked and announced as Soup Pot! A chaotic cooking game coming to XBOX Series X|S and Steam.
The Collective
During the process of registering the company legally, and needing more than five people to apply for a corporation, Gwen and Trina reached out to other developers who want to form a collective of game developers that make quality games for the global market. On October 2020, Jeiel Aranal, Elisha Ramos, and Gian “Jin” Arabejo joined the incorporation and the Chikon Club Collective was born. The collective prides itself in having people first contracts, providing quality healthcare, and giving mental health support to everyone who is part of the collective and the ongoing projects. Within the collective, people can provide help and support to each other, and collaborate on different projects when opportunity arises.
